Welcome

The Borough of Sayreville and me. It has been a love hate relationship for over forty years. As I get older I look back fondly at the town in which I grew up and have essentially spent my entire life in. Almost without exception all of my fondest memories happened here in the heart of New Jersey. Then there are other times when things happen here that I find frustrating and damaging to a great town that should continue to thrive and spawn new memories for our youth. In this new blogging venture I will only focus on the former and leave the latter to other commentators.

This blog will focus on memories of times past in the Borough of Sayreville. Most of them will be my own but I will draw upon those older than me to fill in some blanks as I go along. While I toyed with a few different approaches to this subject I decided the best method was to fly by the seat of my pants. So as I drive around town and am inspired by a memory I will do my best to get a good picture and blog away until the thread runs out. When possible I will also try to obtain archival photos that will help put the muse for the post in proper perspective.

I appreciate any comments or requests and both will be reasonably accommodated. You can email me at TheClayPit@optonline.net. It is my hope that you find this effort to be useful and entertaining.
